Commercial Construction

Reliable Exterior & Interior Commercial Construction

Is the property showing its age? Is the business or the tenant outgrowing the space? Is the building costing you more in reactive repairs than it should?

Patterson & Sons Construction Inc. is a family owned general construction company providing commercial general contracting — service and repair through to major renovation and upgrade. Our clients’ goals sit at the front of the work.

We prefer a proactive approach rather than a reactive one. We value your time as much as our own, which in practice means a scope agreed before we start, a schedule that accounts for your operating hours, and a single point of contact who actually returns calls.

  • No job too big or too small — and no corners cut on either
  • Real options laid out and weighed against each other
  • Work sequenced around your trading hours where it matters
  • On time and within budget, held to as a professional standard

How We Work

A Process Built To Remove Surprises

Thorough for us, simple for you. It is how we manage expectations and prevent the misunderstandings that turn a build into an argument.

01

Interview

We start by listening. We walk the site with you, gather your requirements and get clear on the scale, the constraints and what “done” looks like before anyone quotes a number.

02

Scope

With the requirements understood we develop the scope and prepare a detailed, itemised estimate — timeline, cost and a written description of work, so there is nothing left to interpretation.

03

Design

On approval we submit the final plan and proceed to design. Where you have asked for options we lay out the possibilities and the selections available for the space, with our recommendation.

04

Build

Materials are ordered and the work goes in. We coordinate every phase with you and keep one point of contact, so you always know who to call and what happens next.

Answers

Commercial Construction — Questions We Get Asked

Yes. A great deal of our commercial work happens in occupied buildings, and we phase noisy or disruptive operations into evenings and weekends where the job calls for it. We agree that sequencing with you before the contract is signed, not after.

Yes. We coordinate permits and inspections with the City of Bakersfield and Kern County as part of the scope, and we build to pass rather than building and hoping.

We do. Reactive property maintenance is part of our commercial offering, and for owners with several properties it is often the reason the relationship starts.

From an agreed scope, itemised, with the timeline and description of work in writing. Where there are genuine unknowns we say so and price them as a clearly identified allowance rather than burying them.

Yes — licensed, bonded and insured, holding California Contractors State License #1056509. Certificates of insurance are provided before mobilisation.
